Using Trendy Twine to make flower Petals

Hi everyone! I hope all of you had a wonderful Holiday.

This layout I wanted to keep really simple so my beautiful niece was the star

of the layout. The black die cut paper had a existing flower in the right lower corner but it was white and the layout needed a pop of color. So I pulled out my stash of Trendy Twine and stitched over the existing flower and stems then used glitter glue for the leaves. I used Peppermint Stick and twisted lime and it gave the layout the little something more that it needed. Here is the link to this awesome twine http://anniespaperboutique.bigcartel.com/ it is a twist of three colors and is really sturdy as well as beautiful! I would love to give you a link to the Maya road but I purchased it from Paper Patch Crafts awhile ago and she doesn't have any left that I can find. I do suggest that you use a paper piercing tool if you use card stock because it was rough getting the needle through without it. I am going to be looking for a new paper piercing tool because I am not happy with the provocraft one that I have on hand. So if you have suggestions on a good one please leave a comment here telling me the brand that you use.

I will be adding more layouts and a couple of cards later in the week :)

Have a fantastic day!! Shelley

Money boxes made with the Sweet tooth boxes cartridge

Hi everyone! These cute little boxes were made with the Sweet Tooth Boxes Cricut Cartridge.

I love the cartridge but I did have to play with sizing the lid. The cartridge makes the lid to just sit on the box and I wanted it to fit snug. After a few attempts I measured the box opening and sized the lid to my measurements. The cute feather flowers on top are Websters Pages and can be purchased at Paper Patch Crafts and the Gem strips and Trim are also websters and can be purchased in Anne's store. Here is the link to the store http://stores.ebay.com/Paper-Patch-Crafts/Websters-Pages-/_i.html?_fsub=2628076013&_sid=711701473&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

The twine is from Trendy Twine and I love it! It is not just 1 tone it has a dark then light and white shades in it. It is perfect for pops of color or cute little bows. It is sturdy 4 ply twine. Here is a link to her facebook store. https://www.facebook.com/#!/trendy.twine?sk=app_150178545006427

One other tip that I have is that I used a glue gun to adhere the trims and bows to the boxes because my standard adhesives that I use in my paper Crafts just did not hold them in place. I know the kids will be more excited by the money inside but I loved making these for them!

Have a great crafty day and Happy Holidays!!

Anniversary Card take 2

A huge thank-you to Anne and Denise for helping me tweak this!! You both are awesome! It is even more fantastic that they helped me not in person but through facebook! The improved version is on the left :)

Hi everyone, November 1st is our wedding anniversary and every year I make my husbands card. He saves all of them and loves them more than any gift I could purchase for him. So with that being said I want this card to be perfect! So I need your help and suggestions to tweak this card. I tend to over think them sometimes and add too much and I know alot of you are spectacular card makers and I would love to hear your suggestions:)

On this card for the sentiment I used a Pink by design stamp from the To the moon set. I love that stamp set! Here is a link to that set http://www.pinkbydesignstore.com/To-the-Moon.html

I created my own doilie flower by gathering a piece of Websters pages trim together and placing a Bobunny fall trinket in the center. The papers are kaiser Craft. The pearls are Bobunny. The craft colored lace is by kaisercraft and here is the link to it http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kaiser-Craft-Lace-Natural-/250748676834?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a61c92ae2. Here is a link also to the Bobunny trinkets! I think she sold out on the fall ones but she has others! http://stores.ebay.com/Princess-Crop-Shoppe/_i.html?_nkw=trinkets&submit=Search&_sid=40812442

Any suggestions are welcome!!!

Have a wonderful Halloween weekend!

Celebrate Life

This is the 2nd layout in my series of 3 and is of my first born granddaughter. This little girl is so full of life and is a major ham for the camera! When I had the pleasure of spending 2 weeks with them this summer we had alot of fun having tea parties and we continue to have them on skype. I grew up having tea parties with my Grandma and will keep that tradition going with my own grandchildren even if it is on skype. She also loves to bake with her mommy and daddy so I purchased the little baker outfit she has on in the second photo.
The products used in this layout:
Celebrate Life Paper Websters Pages
Green Lace Websters Pages which is available for purchase here.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Websters-Pages-Floral-Threads-Trim-/250887833550?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a6a1487ce

Have a fabulous Monday!

Tiny Princess

Hi everyone! For the first time in a very long time I actually had a whole day to scrapbook. I will be posting 1 each day for the next 3 days.
This one is of my newest Granddaughter who was just 2 weeks old in this layout.

I used a mix of products on this layout.
Paper is 3 Bugs in a rug
The doily flowers are by creative charms
The lace is Websters Pages
The 3 layouts are now in Shadow Boxes above my fireplace. I thought it would be a great way to display updated photos of them on a regular basis and I can just transfer them into the scrapbooks as I switch them out. Which will also keep me up to date in both girls books. I used Shadow boxes so the flowers and other embellishments would not get smashed by the glass.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday

Winner announced

The winner on my blog is Miss Scraps Alot!!! Please email your address to me at scrapbookingforfun@msn.com and I will forward it to Anne so she can get your prize sent out!

Have a great Sunday everyone!

The stocking card I did use my Cricut Machine with the Christmas Cheer Cartridge to create the layered stocking but once again it is all Silly Season. Now for the Christmas tree card... I got silly with the silly season. I think that is enough said on that one!!

Now the next 2 cards were done using Websters Pages Papers and Embellishments The embellishments and lace are available in Annes Store and she does have a prebuy going on the facebook fan page also for the Websters Pages line. The paper and trinket are BoBunny.

The stitching tape can be purchased from PaperPatch Crafts as well as the Kaisercraft lace

I distressed the edges then inked them with vintage photo ink.

Nothing says holiday season to me more than snowmen and snow flakes!!

Fall card and Baby shower card

Both are cards that I made yesterday for a challenge that Anne was having on her fan page. There is still a challenge going on for a cricut lite cartridge and here is the link so you can check it out!
https://www.facebook.com/#!/media/set/?set=a.10150275491487186.333349.184726517185&type=1

It is for the Hoot and Holler Cart!
Unfortunately I can't participate in that one even though the page maps sketch is amazing.

Never enough time to do all that I would like on my days off from work!

O.k now the fall card is made with BoBunny Papers and Trinkets. I love Bo Bunny but the trinkets are a little hard to find they sell out everywhere pretty quickly! The flower is of course Prima.

The baby Shower card

The base is PaperTrey and the paper for the cuts is DCWV.

All of the cuts are from the Baby Steps cartridge. I love that cartridge!!
The Stamp for the face is Peachykeen stamps.

The silver It's a girl heart is from Michaels and is a charm in the jewelry department. It came in a package of 10 I think. I purchased them almost 3 years ago when my 1st granddaughter was born.
Well I had better close for now and finish up the last details on the 2 cards I am working on today. I need them this week!!!
Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful August and a lot of time to Scrap :) If this blog reaches 300 followers in my absence then I will do random.org upon my return and get that blog candy sent!!

It needs to have a new home before I get tempted by some of the beautiful summer colors!!

Layout Challenge

Hi everyone! Both of these layouts were done for a challenge on Paper Patch Crafts Fan page.

I wasn't happy with my 1st entry so I did a second entry.

As you can see I used several Prima Flowers and not many diecuts. My replacement Imagine machine turned out to be defective also so I had to make do! LOL

The pink frame was cut at 6 inches and is from the Fancy Frames Cricut Cartridge.

The K frames cut is an Imagine cut from the Baby Boutique Cartridge. I love that cartridge!!

The crystals are Prima and KaiserCraft.

The Animal Print papers and ribbons are from Oriental Trading company.
My Fav is the Animal Print layout. What is your favorite?

I have been slacking lately and not participating the way I should but life and my job has kept me busy!! I will be gone in August for a little over 2 weeks for the birth of my 2nd Granddaughter. I get to help with baby but I will be spoiling Miss Kaleah rotten to her daddy's dismay! My son in law is wonderful and tolerates my spoiling :) It is my job!! I don't get to see them often! So this may be my last post until the beginning of September.

I will be checking in and hope to give away my blog candy before I leave!!

Happy Scraping everyone!!!

ZEBRA PRINT CARD

Here is the second family Birthday card of the day. I love pink and black together so I kept it really simple on this one because I wanted the colors to pop. I was pretty happy with the results :)

The cardstock used was Papertrey

The rhinestones are Bobunny

The Ribbon is Offray and I purchased it from Joanns

I did the flower cuts from The Flower Shoppe Cartridge

The Happy Birthday cut was done on the Phrases cartridge

The Zebra paper is Paper Pizazz and was also purchased at Joanns

The faux stitching tape was purchased at Paper-Patch-Crafts

Balloon Volcano

Hi everyone! I created this card for my nephew who will be turning 1.

For this card I used the create a critter cartridge and the Hello Kitty greetings cart.

The Dino and the volcano are both cuts fron the create a critter as well as the greeting.

The balloons are from the hello kitty cart. All the cuts were done on my expression.

Well I better get back to card making I still have a few family birthdays to go!!

Happy scrapbooking everyone!

Lily Birthday Cards

Happy 4th of July everyone!!

I created these 2 birthday cards yesterday for upcoming family Bdays.

The lillies were made with 3 different Mcgill punches. I used plain white cardstock and inked the edges with a Marvy marker. I used chalk to color the lily petals then a fine point marker for the dark dots.

The Hummingbird and the Happy Birthday cut on the orange card are Cricut Imagine cuts from the Lori's garden cartridge. I just went in and changed the colors a bit.

The pink lily card has a standard tag cut from the Imagine machine that comes already loaded then I stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment. The butterfly is a cut from the Elegant edges cartridge but I used the lori's garden cartridge to color in the butterfly. The pink rhinestones are Kaisercraft and so are the card bases.

Hope everyone is having a happy and safe holiday!!

Hubbys Fathers Day Card

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a nice Fathers Day Weekend!!

I finally completed the outside of my hubbys card and decided to post it. He does not spend time on the internet so he will never see it before tomorrow.

I used the imagine and papertrey cardstock. The card is Papertrey but the cuts were done on the imagine with white cardstock and RGB codes for papertrey colors so I could get it all to blend. The grass I filled with pattern color from the snapshot nature Imagine cartridge as well as the wood pattern on the sign. I have decided that I love my Imagine and the Cricut Craftroom when it is working!! lol The squirrels and the sign are from the Cricut Campout Cartridge. The Blue accent shape is a stock image on the Imagine machine.

Have a great weekend and Happy Scraping!!

Red White and Blue Fashionista!

Hi everyone! I just received new pics of my granddaughter and couldn't resist scraping this one.
I love this Bo Bunny Paper Line it is called the Liberty series and I purchased it at Princess Crop Shoppe and here is the link to her store: http://stores.ebay.com/Princess-Crop-Shoppe?_trksid=p4340.l2563 The Dot ribbon is also from her store.

The pretty white lace and the round coaster are from Annes store and here is her link:http://paper-patch-crafts.com The pretty red felt flower is also at Annes store!!

O.k now the cuts... The shooting star is a cricut cut from the stand and salute cartridge and I cut that on my expression in the base cut and the shadow cut and glued them together with my trusty fine point glue pen. The Flags are a Cricut Imagine cut from the Enjoy the seasons cartridge. I had to split the layers to be able to get the flags without the banner. The American Pride cut is also from the Stand and Salute cartridge but I did the cut and color function on the Imagine to do that one.

The jewels and other bling I have no idea where I purchased it or how long I have had it!! Like most scrapbookers I find things in this room that I didn't know I owned!!

I haven't had the Imagine long and it is a learning process!! I also have access to the Cricut Craftroom but it still has alot of bugs to work out and doesn't cooperate 80% of the time with the imagine! I reverted back to the expression and design studio for items that just need to be cut because they are having problems with the cut only function and will be putting out an update to fix that soon. I do have to say that the support people are very pleasant and will walk you through trouble shooting issues!
Hope everyone is having a great day!! Happy Scraping!

I loved the picture and it was perfect for the sketch at the Patch!! Hope you all like it!!

The Heart Never Forgets

Hi everyone! This is based on a sketch that Anne at paper patch crafts provided. and you can find that sketch on her blog. In the pictures is my nephew and my granddaughter. He went to visit my daughter and her family in Hawaii where her husband was based. When I saw the photos posted on my daughters site and some on Johns site as well they brought tears to my eyes. There were so many shots of her looking at him with so much adoration and of him looking back at her with love. Considering the fact that he hadn't seen her since she was 4 and 1/2 months old it amazed me that they bonded so quickly. I guess it is true that the heart never forgets. With my daughters husband being in the military they live where ever the military takes them and we don't get to see them often so it does my heart good to know that even in a short visit she will carry us in her heart like we carry her in ours. It seemed fitting to scrap this today.

I hope everyone had a safe Memorial day weekend. If you have a deployed spouse, or child they are carrying you in there hearts and the heart never forgets.

Cricut Imagine

I received the Cricut Imagine as a gift from my hubby. I have to say this machine is a challenge.

The jury is still out on how I feel about this one. I do most of my designs on design studio which does not work with the imagine. It has a nice screen on it but my sight is not what it used to be.

I am hoping that the Cricut Craft Room will be open to all of us soon. I have alot to learn on this new machine and it is a little intimidating. One thing that I did learn is that the machine will not just cut if you have an imagine cartridge still in the machine. Of course I freaked out because I thought it was broken! lol After I calmed down I decided to trouble shoot a little on my own and pulled out the imagine cartridge and presto it worked!! LOL

The picture posted above was a challenge card for Paper Patch Crafts and was my first item done with the imagine. It is really basic but we have to start somewhere!! I will post

creations as I go and also anything that I learn on my journey with the Cricut Imagine!!
Happy Scraping!!

Make Your Own Carnations!

I learned how to do these cute little flowers by watching a tutorial that Linn a fellow blogger and Patch follower was kind enough to provide so here is that link:

I did try a couple other ways to do these also and will share that info with you too.

The purple bloom I used Maya Mist in Metallic Purple instead of Ink and water.

The Maya Mist is available in Annes store and here is that link to her store front:

The 2 multi colored blooms I simply used Cardstock with a print on it and water.

Check out Linns tutorial to learn how to do these! It is simple and you can customize the blooms to fit your color scheme on your layouts or cards and it is fun to see your results too!!

Happy Carnation Making!!

Adalyn Layout

Hi everyone! I will have another Granddaughter in August and her name is Adalyn. I decided I better get started on Scrapbook pages now since I will have 2 to try to keep up on!
I used the Kates ABC's Cricut cartridge to cut the scalloped blocks and the cute little shoes.
The solid Cardstock in BoBunny Double Dots in Turquoise.
The Floral Cardstock is Walk in the Park by Echo Park and is available in Annes Store.
The flowers and centers are prima and were purchased from Annes Ebay store a long time ago.
I didn't want to do a standard it's a girl pink layout because it just seems kind of boring to me.
Kaleah who is 2 and will be the big sister just doesn't fit the boring light pink theme and I don't think Miss Adalyn will either!! Hope you enjoy the layout!!

Baby Steps Cuts...

I finally got to play with the wonderful BabySteps cartridge that I won in the Scrappy Jaks Give away. The cuts are just too cute on this cart and I love it!! I am working on embellishments for my 2nd granddaughters book and she is due in August so I want to get a little ahead :) I used Peachykeen stamps for the face and copic markers to color the flesh and outline some of the cuts. I will be making more this weekend. I have been designing more of them in design studio so all I will have to do is slap paper on the mat and hit cut!! lol

Mothers day cards

This will be my last post today. Because my daughter and granddaughter live in another state today was a lazy day for me so I created several cards that needed to be done for may. Both of these cards are Mothers Day cards

The print cardstock is by KaiserCraft from the Chanteuse line and is available at

The resin pink blooms are Maya Road and the beautiful long stemed blooms are KaiserCraft.

The lace and blooms are all available at Paper Patch Crafts.

The Paper butterflies are Prima

Solid Cardstock is Papertrey Ink
The swirl ribbon was purchased at Cropstop

The white stitching was created using a white gel pen that Anne the owner of Paper Patch Crafts tossed into all of her Design Teams boxes last month. It is always like Christmas when the design team box arrives at my door!! I love it!

I hope everyone has a fabulous week! It is back to work for me in the AM

Lily Bday Card

This is my first attempt at making a lily using the Mcgill punches and tools.

My fellow designer for Paper Patch Crafts Shelley Toney did a wonderful tutorial on making these lillies and here is the link to that tutorial on her blog:

Now for product used.

The printed paper and tag are KaiserCraft Chanteuse Collection and are available at:

The butterflies are Prima

I used Papertrey Ink card stock for the lillies.

I used chalk to shadow the pink into the lillies and a copic marker to outline the petals and put the dots on the petals.

My lillies are far from perfect but I know they will get better everytime I make them!!

Happy Crafting Everyone!!

Butterfly Birthday

Happy Easter everyone.

Yesterday I worked on a Birthday card for one of my beautiful neices.

With spring starting I wanted bright and cheerful and I got that look with the following products.

Cardstock solid light green: Papertrey Ink

Butterfly Cardstock : KaiserCraft Bubblegum Hills collection. which is available at:

I used nestibilities petite scalloped circles in my cuttlebug to do the circular cuts.

I also used 4 inch coasters purchased from Anne at Paper Patch Crafts to give the cuts

dimention. I love the coasters. Because they are 4 inches it is also easy to do a 4 inch circle with patterned paper to cover the coaster.

Silly me I didn't know you could use nestibilities or spellbinders in my cuttlebug. I had to call Anne and get instruction on how to do that. She is always awesome about teaching and giving information as well as answering all my silly questions! Now I am hooked! I now prefer the nestibilities and spellbinder dies over the cuttlebug dies. They are so much more versatile.

Back to product used.

The mini roses are made by Recollections

I also used Stickles glitter glue.

Now I need to get busy on Mothers Day Cards.

I will also be posting another card I made later today :)

Shelley Toney who is also a designer at the Patch did a fabulous tutorial on making lillies. You can find it on her blog. The link is on my blogs home page. The card I will be posting later shows my first lily attempt after watching the tutorial that Shelley T provided.

If you haven't yet hop over to facebook and join the fan page for paper patch crafts. Anne is always doing fun challenges and great tutorials!!

Birthday card for my Nephew

Hi everyone! I created this card for my little nephew. I started out thinking I needed to get my brothers done but I had our little guy on my mind so I made his way ahead of time.

Paper Patch Crafts is having a color challenge and the colors are Olive Green, Red and Tan so I used those colors in Patricks card. I am pretty happy with the results. I used a sizzix die for the bear. The stars are a cricut cut and the wagon and pinwheels are Provo Craft Standouts.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!

All Boy

Hi everyone!
All 3 of these items were Design Team projects for Paper Patch Crafts. Because I have granddaughters this was a challenge for me. I don't do many male layouts or cards. With that being said Anne provided some wonderful products from her store for me to work with which made it easier. The items used in these projects were:
Echo Park Paper and embellishments in the little boy line.
Embellishments in Maya Road and Kaiser Craft as well as Echo Park Little Boy.
One of the cards can be either male or female.
Now here is a link to Annes store where you can find all of these wonderful products!!

I am back :) Here are a few cards that I recently made

After a very long break from blogger due to my blog being a mess when my blog designer quit hosting the blog design. I am back  With a be...
