B day card

Today I had the pleasure of spending a few hours after work with my youngest niece.

She wanted to make scrapbook cards. She had a lot of fun raiding my stash while drinking hot cocoa with a mountain of whip cream. I enjoyed her creativity and joy in what she was doing.

I did complete 1 card during that time and it is far from perfect. But what scrap card is really perfect?? I played with distressing a little on this one because I thought it just needed it. So here is my creation for the day with all it's perfect imperfections!! lol
I hope to have many more days with Marisa like the one I had today and hopefully with my granddaughter if they ever live close enough.
Have a wonderful holiday!!!

Happy Holidays

I wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
We all have special holiday moments and memories. My favorite part of Christmas was seeing the excitement and wonder on my daughters face on Christmas morning. Now that she is grown and has a daughter of her own I know that Kaleah will have that wonderful look of excitement on her face Christmas morning.

I know with the economy being the way it is families are having a hard time just putting food on the table this holiday season. If you are able to and would like to help a family in your neighborhood check with your local school or church. You will be amazed at the simple requests that the children have on their Christmas lists and the basic needs that you can help meet. Knowing that another child will have that look of wonder and excitement and will not be hungry even for that 1 day is the greatest gift you can give to yourself as well as teaching your children to be giving.

From my family to yours Happy Holidays!

Handbag Money Holder

Hi... This little Handbag money holder was made using the following items:

BoBunny Winter joy printed cardstock.

DCWV Solid cardstock

MLYB chipboard shapes available at Paper Patch Crafts I just added some stickles and a rhinestone to glitz it up a bit.

The handbag was a diecut from the Paisley cricut cartridge. I used the 4 inch size setting so that they would fit into a 5x5 square vellum envelope. I know my nieces will love them almost as much as the money inside!! lol

Friend Christmas Card

Hi everyone. I wanted to do a special card for a wonderful friend in my life.
I am pretty happy with the results and wanted to share it here on my blog.

****I know our friendship will never melt****
This card was made with:
Papertrey purple cardstock
Bobunny Winter whimsy diecut cardstock and stickers.
1 4 inch coaster from PaperPatch Crafts
and a beautiful blue glitter cardstock.
Say it in crystals snow flakes.
I hope everyone enjoys the card!!
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone as well!

Another Holiday Card

Here is another Winter/Holiday card that was fun to do.
In this one I used:

SEI Christmas Mint Paper for the backround.
I used a 4 inch coaster and covered it in MLYB Christmas Delight Frosty Flurries Cardstock.
( Both the coasters and the MLYB are available at Paper Patch Crafts )

Solid Cardstocks are PaperTreyInk

The cuts are from Cricut Cartridges Winter Frolic and Very Merry Tags

Wood peppermint is from Michaels

I inked the edges of the circle and the white cardstock.

Have a wonderful day!

Snowman card for a winter card challenge at the patch

Hi, Anne at PaperPatch Crafts has a winter card challenge going on. Stop by her facebook group page and join in on the fun!! Here is the link to her fan page! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Maurertown-VA/Paper-Patch-Crafts/184726517185?ref=mf

The snowman is a cricut cut from Doodlecharms. Out of all of the cuts from Carts that I tried I just was not happy with them so I posted to the group and a wonderful member posted to try Doodlecharms and it was perfect! I never would have looked on that cartridge without her helpful suggestion!
The scarf as you can see is made with fibers. They are easy to manipulate on a small item like the snowman. I put a snowflake brad through it to hold it in place. I used pink chalk to give her pink cheeks. An artist I am not so the eyes are not perfect but I still like her!!

Snowflake paper is Imaginisce Frosted Window
Cardstock is Papertrey
Snowflakes are glitter cardstock and I used the When its cold outside cricut cartridge then placed a glitter brad through the cuts to hold them together.
Let it Snow Sticker is MLYB and is available in Annes store.
Blue Ribbon was purchased at Michaels many moons ago
I outlined my snowlady in stickles glitter glue in pearl sparkle.

Have a wonderful day and come on over to the patch to participate!!

DT Halloween Layout For the Patch

This time as part of my design team projects Anne has asked me to do a Halloween Layout.

So this layout was created with items from PaperPatch Crafts. Anne was fantastic about giving me cute products rather than scary ones. My Gran daughter is not quite 2 so the layout is the future home of her Halloween Picture. She lives in Hawaii but my daughter is wonderful about sending me links to lots of pictures! I have a picture box for each year. LOL Most of them will never reach a scrapbook but I love looking through them. With all of that being said here is a list of the items used.

The Printed Paper is Prima Little Boo collection

Flowers are Prima

The Ribbon, buttons and owl I am not sure which company produced those but Anne can help you with that.

The Pumpkin was cut and embossed with my cuttlebug.

I did use stickles glitter glue also.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Shadow Box

Hi everyone,

It is super hot here in the Willamette Valley today and I was lucky enough to have the day off to play! So I finally got to do my Hawaii trip shadow box. The shells and coral are all items that we found on the beach on base where my daughter and her little family live. It was a wonderful trip and I am not a knick knack person so I did a shadow box! I posted a pic of the layout on it's own and 1 of the layout in the shadow box.
