The Heart Never Forgets

Hi everyone! This is based on a sketch that Anne at paper patch crafts provided. and you can find that sketch on her blog. In the pictures is my nephew and my granddaughter. He went to visit my daughter and her family in Hawaii where her husband was based. When I saw the photos posted on my daughters site and some on Johns site as well they brought tears to my eyes. There were so many shots of her looking at him with so much adoration and of him looking back at her with love. Considering the fact that he hadn't seen her since she was 4 and 1/2 months old it amazed me that they bonded so quickly. I guess it is true that the heart never forgets. With my daughters husband being in the military they live where ever the military takes them and we don't get to see them often so it does my heart good to know that even in a short visit she will carry us in her heart like we carry her in ours. It seemed fitting to scrap this today.

I hope everyone had a safe Memorial day weekend. If you have a deployed spouse, or child they are carrying you in there hearts and the heart never forgets.

Cricut Imagine

I received the Cricut Imagine as a gift from my hubby. I have to say this machine is a challenge.

The jury is still out on how I feel about this one. I do most of my designs on design studio which does not work with the imagine. It has a nice screen on it but my sight is not what it used to be.

I am hoping that the Cricut Craft Room will be open to all of us soon. I have alot to learn on this new machine and it is a little intimidating. One thing that I did learn is that the machine will not just cut if you have an imagine cartridge still in the machine. Of course I freaked out because I thought it was broken! lol After I calmed down I decided to trouble shoot a little on my own and pulled out the imagine cartridge and presto it worked!! LOL

The picture posted above was a challenge card for Paper Patch Crafts and was my first item done with the imagine. It is really basic but we have to start somewhere!! I will post

creations as I go and also anything that I learn on my journey with the Cricut Imagine!!

Make Your Own Carnations!

I learned how to do these cute little flowers by watching a tutorial that Linn a fellow blogger and Patch follower was kind enough to provide so here is that link:

I did try a couple other ways to do these also and will share that info with you too.

The purple bloom I used Maya Mist in Metallic Purple instead of Ink and water.

The Maya Mist is available in Annes store and here is that link to her store front:

The 2 multi colored blooms I simply used Cardstock with a print on it and water.

Check out Linns tutorial to learn how to do these! It is simple and you can customize the blooms to fit your color scheme on your layouts or cards and it is fun to see your results too!!

Happy Carnation Making!!

Adalyn Layout

Hi everyone! I will have another Granddaughter in August and her name is Adalyn. I decided I better get started on Scrapbook pages now since I will have 2 to try to keep up on!
I used the Kates ABC's Cricut cartridge to cut the scalloped blocks and the cute little shoes.
The solid Cardstock in BoBunny Double Dots in Turquoise.
The Floral Cardstock is Walk in the Park by Echo Park and is available in Annes Store.
The flowers and centers are prima and were purchased from Annes Ebay store a long time ago.
I didn't want to do a standard it's a girl pink layout because it just seems kind of boring to me.
Kaleah who is 2 and will be the big sister just doesn't fit the boring light pink theme and I don't think Miss Adalyn will either!! Hope you enjoy the layout!!
Happy Scraping!!

Baby Steps Cuts...

I finally got to play with the wonderful BabySteps cartridge that I won in the Scrappy Jaks Give away. The cuts are just too cute on this cart and I love it!! I am working on embellishments for my 2nd granddaughters book and she is due in August so I want to get a little ahead :) I used Peachykeen stamps for the face and copic markers to color the flesh and outline some of the cuts. I will be making more this weekend. I have been designing more of them in design studio so all I will have to do is slap paper on the mat and hit cut!! lol

I am back :) Here are a few cards that I recently made

After a very long break from blogger due to my blog being a mess when my blog designer quit hosting the blog design. I am back  With a be...
